Activities of the week

So what happens in the Dive Centre in a week?

Openwater certification classes get completed..well done Irina and Sergey from Russia

Next came DEEP DIVER specialty course graduates ...........Ross, Pedro and Georgina.

Dont forget the 3 boat dives a day to different dive sites...........we managed longe range sites such as Shark Bank, Conception and Matupa Point but our short distance sites are also top producers of unusual sightings..... leaf fish, Indian Ocean Walkman, green and hawksbill turtles, black tip shark, eagle and sting rays and fish in shoalling numbers!! Just Great!! Visit L'Ilot Island, Aquarium, Grand Bazar reef, Grouper point , Bay Ternay Marine Park, and the 3 wreck sites .

We also had visiting Marine Biologists from Tasmania who are inspecting our corals and fish life to be included into a world based website .........their quote of the week is :

''The corals are amazing........varied and in good condition and the fish life cover over both corals and granitic rock sites is very worthwhile ''

So we cant ask for a better report than that...........thanks Rick and Jemina

Dont forget the returning visit of the crew form the RFA PortVictoria who managed to do lots of dives. So far this year they have had three visits and we are cetainly on a first name basis !!!

At the end of the week came the closing of the north end of Beau Vallon Beach to allow the laying of the fiber optic cable ..........so we will finally be able to upload and download almost as fast as the rest of the world... a big step for a small country like ours!!

It takes a boat this size to cross the ocean with our cable
